Billie Jean Watkins, 87, passed away March 7, 2015. Billie was born March 11, 1927 in Triplett, MO to Lela and Willard Smith of Brunswick, MO.
Billie Jean graduated from Brunswick High School in 1944 and then moved to Kansas City to marry Howard D. Watkins, Jr. on January 18, 1947. They were married 59 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister’s Betty Lou Agee of Salisbury, Marcy Lee Reynolds of Salisbury, Gloria Darlene, and an Infant sister of Triplett.
Billie Jean is survived by her daughter Bettilee Cooper (Glen, Jr.), of Belton, MO and son Bill Watkins (Rhonda) of Independence, Mo, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and 3 nieces.
She had been a member of the Birchwood Baptist Church of Independence, MO.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
