Ms. Beth K McGee

Beth Kelley McGee, 85, of K.C., MO, passed away March 5, 2015. Funeral Service will be 11am, Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Blue Ridge UMC, with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Floral Hills. Beth Alice Kelley was born October 5, 1929, on the family farm in Howard County, Iowa. Her parents were Ernest and Edith McCollister Kelley. Her family moved to Minnesota in 1933, and Beth attended schools there, graduating from high school in 1946. She worked at various clerical jobs in Minnesota, Colorado and California before marrying Frederick S. McGee in 1951. She had three children, Kerry Alan, Kathleen Louise and Susan Maureen. In 1969, she returned to work outside the home, working for the Agriculture Dept., the Veterans Administration and the Dept. of Commerce. She was employed as a Personnel Management Specialist at the time of her retirement from Federal service in 1995. She joined the Methodist church at age 12 and remained a loyal member for the rest of her life. She served in the Blue Ridge UMC for many years and was an active member of the Builders Class of that church. She is survived by her beloved housemate and friend of many years, Shirley J. Salmon, Ph.D., her three children, Kerry Alan (Bonnie) of Louisville, KY, Kathleen Louise (Evan) Bryson of Globe, AZ, and Susan Maureen of Oskaloosa, KS, three grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Kevin Alan and David Joel, and one great-grandson, Ryan Henry. Survivors also include her brother, Ernest L. Kelley and her sister, Lois E. Gronseth, both of Minnesota. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and their families.
