Today we honor and remember a loving husband, dad, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
Aron Metheuslia Bruce was born in Sudan, Texas on February 25, 1937, to his parents Bristow and Mary Irvin-Bruce. Aron was the eighth born of 10 children.
Aron graduated high school in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After high school Aron enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 18, where he served in the US Navy for four years, followed by two years in the US Army reserves.
After his military service, Aron migrated to California, where he began his career with Pacific Bell and stayed on there for 25 years. Aron also worked in customer service for Long Motors for the final 18 years of his working career. Aron was a dedicated, reliable and loyal employee until retirement.
Aron’s hobbies included the love of music (Jazz), he was a faithful fan of Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders, and he was always ready to discuss politics and current events.
Aron enjoyed reading and writing.
Aron's interest in writing inspired him to create his own blog which he named 'Talk-N-See' where he wrote regularly about politics, current events and history.
Aron’s interests also included photography, the latest technology, an enjoyment for fixing things (tinkering), gardening and working outdoors with his hands.
Aron married Elaine in 1975, and they remained married for 48 years. They resided in California before moving back to Elaine’s hometown of Kansas City, Missouri in 1992.
Aron departed this life on May 8, 2023, and was preceded in death by his Parents: Bristow and Mary Irvin-Bruce, his four sisters: Lula Polk, Cloudrine Lee, Millee Lee and Ester Lee, his five brothers: James Lee, Arthur Lee, Jimmy Lee and Henry Irvin. Aron also had two stepsons, Mark and Tommie Miller that preceded him in death.
Aron is survived by his wife Elaine Bruce (Kansas City, Missouri), Stepdaughter’s: Lenora Bennett and Charisse Pryor, Son in law Rafeeq Muhammad, Christine Miller (Cragin). Nieces: Ruby Morris, Rosie, Vera, Denise, Millie, Sandy, Janet, Patricia, Arlene and Patricia Irving. Nephews: George, Kevin, and Tommie.
To cherish his memory, Aron leaves a host of relatives and many loving friends as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren that cherished their Papa Aron.

Grandchildren: Clemica, Roqel, Olan (Rebecca), Nate, Marquee (Justin), Tori, Sophia (Nicole), Charisse (Andrew), Chante, Christina, Alexis (Karim), Morgan and Erin. Great-grandchildren: King, Majesty, Lilly, Isaiah, Tommie, Nicholas, Amaya, Kyndall, Laila and Peyton.
