Alvina Vogrin, 100, died on June 5, 2013, in Kansas City. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 8, 1913, the daughter of the late John Henry and Clara Dulle Vogrin. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Seraphin Vogrin and Catherin Merrill and by her good friend June Kenward. She was a longtime employee of Katz Drugs and volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital. Alvina was cheerful, enthusiastic, filled with good humor, and a good and loyal friend. She is survived and missed by family and friends, including Ann and Ben Rowe, Ken and Peg Wolfe, Laura Jeane Merrill, Pat Hollingsworth, Jeane Rhule, Bernie and Jackie Madden, Elvin and Judy Knight, Tom Emory, John Morris, Dorothy Chancellor, Bonnie Haley, Kristi Hall, Linda Ward, and Chris Aggrey. The family would like to thank Dr. David Peters, Ann Aldrich, and Home Instead Senior Care for their care of Alvina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2 East 75th, Kansas City, MO, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Continua Hospice, 7411 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64114.
