Vicki was born June 11, 1951 in St. Mary Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas E. Drummond and Marjorie Lois (Ware) Moore. She lived all over the Eastern states with her mother and stepfather until his passing in 1961, when they moved to Westport area, where she graduated from Westport High School in 1969. Vicki later received an Associate’s degree in computers from Kansas City, Kansas Community College, and made the Dean’s Honor Role for her excellent GPA; she was even nominated for a Who’s Who of students.
Vicki married the love of her life, Paul Knight, on December 20, 1971 in Miami, Oklahoma. She worked at Winsteads as a car hop on the Plaza; Hallmark Cards in KCMO, as a file clerk for BMA Insurance, and the KCMO Municipal Court. While her husband, Paul was serving in the Air Force in 1972, Vicki moved to Biloxi and later Austin and worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety as a file clerk. She loved to go camping and took their family often in their pop-up camper towed by a blue Chevy Cavalier wagon. Their CB handle was the Blue Streak, since they were able to tow it so fast. They returned to Kansas City in 1976, where Vicki worked at Riss Trucking.
Vicki was raised Catholic, but converted after marriage. She attended a variety of churches, including Cornerstone Community Church, where she was very active, and through friends made there, she started attending The Freedom Center Church, and was a leader of their prayer chain. She was a very talented artist, though she didn’t always stick with a project. She won blue ribbons for an Eagle statue and several other pieces. Vicki also enjoyed watching old TV shows and the Plus 700 Club. She read her bible every morning. Vicki also loved spending time with her family, especially when they could agree on a restaurant to go to.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Emmett Drummond; her mother, Marjorie Lois (Ware) Moore; and her brother, Larry Eugene Drummond.
Vicki is survived by her husband of 46 years, Paul Virgil Knight of the home; her daughter, Kimberly Jane (Knight) Pomatto and her husband Michael of Baden, Pennsylvania, currently in Seoul, South Korea; her son, Chris George Knight of Kansas City, Kansas; her granddaughter, Jessica Pomatto of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her brother, Thomas Stephen Drummond of Bucyrus, Kansas; her nephew, Emmett Drummond; and her niece, Jessica Ballentine.
