Bob was a graduate of Kansas State University. He volunteered through the Johnson County, Kansas branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness speaking to groups of people about mental illness and assisted medical professionals to develop effective treatment plans for people suffering from mental illness.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Jean Kistler and his father, Raymond Wolters Kistler. He is survived by his eight brothers and sisters, Raymond Kistler, Carl Kistler, Catherine Ehmke, Barbara Meyer, Mary Hull, Marlene Caton, Mark Kistler, and Kevin Kistler.
Bob’s family and friends will celebrate his life on April 20, 2024 with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at the adjacent cemetery, Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
