Lois J. Erwin, 81, died January 8, 2013 at Sharon Lane Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 11th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12th at the funeral home, with interment to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Crossroads Hospice.
Lois was born September 20, 1931 to John and Stella Mead. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, where she met her husband of 58 years, Buford W. Erwin. He preceded her in death in 2010. Lois worked as a tax preparer for Haley’s Tax Service and Beverly’s Tax Service. In her younger years, Lois was an accomplished violinist, performing often at high school and church events. She was involved in the Golden Fellowship group and the Ladies 3C Circle at Zion Church for many years as well as membership in the Women of the Moose Lodge Group. Lois’ passion was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Janet Manson (Tim), and Diane Jennings (Wayne); four grandsons, Alex Rieger, Neil Rieger, Luke Manson, Nick Manson (Rose); and great granddaughters, Rheanna and Molly.
