Karla Kristine (Super) Alvarado, 64 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 27, 1958, to John W. and Bernice (Peresko) Super.
Karla never met a stranger, with several friendships that began with casual conversations in line at the grocery store or the pharmacy. Although she and John never had children of their own, they grew especially close to their nephews Luke Robinson and James Chaney after they each lost their mother. Karla was a wonderful caregiver to her sisters Gina and Jane during their long illnesses, and to John’s mother Esther Alvarado.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Gina Chaney and Mary Jane Super; and brothers, Robert, Timothy, Phillip and Joseph Super. Karla is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, John Alvarado; sister, Dana (Bob) Posey; brother, Dennis (Elena) Super; sister-in-law, Karin Super; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS, 1086 N 94th Street, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
