Born on May 11, 1937 Helen, her brother Lew and sister Joanne were raised in the small community of Beavertown, PA. Helen loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was the organist at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Pine Grove Mills, PA for several decades.
Helen, aka ‘GiGi’ loved her grandchildren, Nicole Mendez, Jesse Lyle, Laura Kelley, Jayme Peters, Matthew Rudolph and Jenny Inman and her great grandchildren Rylee, Kole and Kalee Mendez, Piper, Roxanna, Maddie and Preston Kelley and Camden Inman with all her heart. Helen worked at Penn State University for 31 years and was a diehard Nittany Lion fan.
She is survived by her brother Lewis Ettinger from Selinsgrove, PA, sister Joanne Hackett and her husband Mark from Selinsgrove, PA, son Scot Rudolph and his wife Theresa, from Wharton, TX, and daughters Cindy Dobbins from Basehor, KS and Linda Peters and her husband Larry from Goldsboro, NC.
Helen enjoyed fine dining, home cooking, concerts, and being with her best girlfriends in State College. She made friends wherever she went. She was truly a beacon of light and she will be forever missed. Her wish is for us, her loved ones, is not to be sad but to rejoice in the fact that she is no longer in pain. So as you read this, remember her quick wit, her crazy sense of humor, her smile and her love of all things Penn State and football.
Helen’s wishes were to be cremated and have a private ceremony at her parent’s graves in Beavertown, PA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Helen’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Helen will be honored in a celebration of life, that will be broadcast live, on November 13, 2022 at 4 pm CT.
