Gary Lee Bagby, 67, of Denver, CO, died Thursday, November 24th, 2022 after a brave battle of several years with lung cancer. Memorial Services will be 10 a.m-12p.m, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the Mausoleum at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street, Kansas City, KS, where friends may call on his family.
Gary was born May 15th, 1955, in Independence, MO, grew up in Kansas City, KS and lived his adult life in Denver, CO. He was a 1973 graduate of Washington High School. Gary was a successful business owner as the Satellite Doctor where he installed satellites and audio/video equipment.
Gary was also a passionate car enthusiast and racer. He spent much of his time building his modified dirt track cars and racing all over the Midwest. After retiring his racing helmet he went on to spend time collecting and modifying classic muscle cars like his beloved 1965 Ford Falcon Futura that he outfitted with a 347 stroker and side pipe exhaust. He loved attending the city wide car shows in Golden, CO where you could find him most weekends showing either his Falcon or his 1967 Camaro SS.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and June Bagby, brother Harley O’Leary, as well as one of his two doodles, Bailey Bagby, who was like his daughter.
He is survived by his brother, Ronnie L. Bagby, of Kansas City, KS; his sister, Debora Orlando, of Gardner, KS; two nephews Tyler Bagby and Zach Litvak; 6 nieces Jackie Litvak, Lauren Mundy, Melanie Harp, June Hammer, Nichole Horner, and Elise Sellers; 10 great nieces and nephews; also his beloved golden-doodle son, Baxter, whom helped save his life during his battle with cancer.
Gary was an amazing son, brother, uncle, great uncle, dog dad, and friend.
