Frank F. Wiltfong, 86, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016. Visitation is Saturday, November 19th from 10:00-10:30a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:30a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Inurnment will be Monday, November 21st at 10a.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas 66048. Frank was born May 9, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas to Howard and Lillian (Wiber) Wiltfong. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. On December 31, 1954, Frank married Jimmie Lou Bowman. Frank worked for William Volker until his retirement in 1982. Frank was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas and was referred to by the many people who knew him as “The Green’s Man” as he sold his produce from the Wiltfong farm on 63rd and Leavenworth. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing and competitively participated in Trapshooting.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Lou; sister, Caroline Flowers and grandson, Kevin Beeson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Annette (Dennis) Grasher and Carolyn (Michael) McCune; grandchildren, Jessica Beeson, Kenny (Brittney) Grasher, Jodi (David) Williams, Jeffrey (Kylie) Grasher, Lauren McCune and Jacqueline McCune; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Don) Koontz as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
