Dorothy Luttrell, 89, passed away April 21, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 25 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas, please meet at the funeral home before the service.
Dorothy was born September 30, 1924 in Medford, Oklahoma to Chester and Alfie Duncan. She graduated from Wyandotte High School where she marched in the band. Dorothy worked for Piper Brace Company in Kansas City, Missouri for many years. She was awarded the Business Woman of the Year in the mid-eighties by the Business Women of America. Dorothy used to enjoy all types of sewing & crafting, but in recent years, she has enjoyed slowing down and taking the time to drink a good cup of coffee and read the paper. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her son, Samuel Luttrell. Dorothy leaves 2 daughters, Barbara Braswell and Marcia Luttrell; 9 grandkids, John Braswell, Chris Braswell, Lisa Phillips, Leslie Braswell, Lori Braswell, Lynne Braswell, Kelley Barajas, Shelby Fix and Sami Jo Luttrell; 16 great-grandkids, Jeffrey Phillips, Tessa Phillips, Zach Braswell, Arcelia Braswell, Joseph Braswell, Christopher Braswell, Jr., Jacob Braswell, Stasia Braswell, Dakota Braswell, Alicia Braswell, Elena Braswell, Adiella Braswell, Kara Barajas, Kristen Barajas, Reco Barajas and Ashton Milsap; and 5 great-great grandkids, Edward (E.J.) Phillips, Abigail Phillips, Priscilla Alcala, Amarissa Ramirez and Aiden Barajas.
