Charles Albert Stevens of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Homestead Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 18, 1930 to Melbourne and Bessie Stevens. Charles, aka Charlie, enjoyed fishing and helping elderly people. He served in the US Navy from 1951 until 1955. He married Phyllis Eileen Walters on July 6, 1957 and resided in Kansas City, Kansas until 2013. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1992 after 41 years of service. Charles leaves his daughter, Diana Feather; his son, Jerry Stevens; four grandchildren, one great grandson, two sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Graveside Service will be Monday, November 2 at 11 am in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
