Charles F. Neece

Charles Franklin Neece (Charlie) went home to the Lord on March 22, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Mon., March 25 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armourdale Baptist Church, 700 S. Mill St., KCK 66105.

Charles was born June 29, 1921 in Commerce, OK to Ver and Sarah (Morgan) Neece. He spent most of his life in KCK, graduated from Argentine High School and spent two years at K-State. Charles worked at North American Bomber Plant Building B25 and then joined the Army Air Corp. as an aviation cadet in February 1944, then was honorably discharged in November 1945. When he returned from service, he went to work for KCP&L for 39+ years and retired in January 1985 as a Lead System Maintenance Operator. He was a member of Armourdale Baptist Church since 1940 and a Trustee for several years as well as a member of the Triple M Sunday School Class, bus driver and all-around Mr. Fix-It. Charles was a Mason with the Ben-Hur Lodge for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water sports and tinkering in his basement. Charles was preceded in death by his parents at a young age, after which his grandparents Charles Brewster and Rebecca Morgan cared for him; Charles said his grandfather was his greatest inspiration. His grandparents Charles and Rebecca Morgan as well as his aunts and uncles have also preceded him in passing.

Charles is survived by his wife, Ruby Neece; four children, Judy Geer (Wes), Rodney Neece (Patricia), Cheryl Glienke (Greg), and Becky Clark (Jeff); eight grandchildren, Rev. Shawn Geer (Yolanda), Wendie Berry (Rev. Scott), Audrea Jeanneret (Jeff), Shelby Austin (Don), Stephanie Pullum (Justin), Stacy Clark, Jenny Venning (Jeff) and Jeffrey Clark; cousin Carnie Jones as well as 14 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
