Len is survived by his 6 children: daughter Trudy Brown (Norman), distant daughter Barb, and 4 sons, Bill (Kelly), Daniel, Randy (Lynn) and Andrew (Kim). He was also a proud grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather to many. Len will also be missed by his loving sisters Shirley (Joe), June and Lorraine.
Len lived a long and full life. He grew up in Ontario with his many siblings. He met and married his “Lovey”, Fern, in 1950 having 64 wonderful years raising their family together and traveling until her passing in 2014.
Len’s adult life began early with him starting work on the coal ships at 17. He had a long career in the military, where he was stationed in Chilliwack, BC before working many years in security throughout the Lower Mainland. Though he retired at 53, he never stopped working. He was very active and past-president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Abbotsford. He moved to Kamloops in 2002 and became president of the FOE there. Len was also a member and past-president of ANAVETS in Kamloops, as well as a dedicated volunteer in the community. Len could be found watching hockey and baseball and having a beer with friends and his sons. He lived fully until he died.
A Celebration of Len’s Life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 12:30 pm at Cottonwood Manor, Dogwood Room, 730 Cottonwood Avenue, Kamloops.
The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Vlahos for her care and appreciation of Dad and “daughter” Lynn for always being there for him, looking after him and for the laughs they shared for 50 years.
Len will be sorely missed by many and fondly remember.
