Nora was predeceased by her husband Alex, her parents Peter and Mabel, and brother Peter.
Mom was born December 20, 1933 near Brilliant, B.C., to Peter and Mabel Pereverzoff. She was the middle child, with an older brother, Pete Pereverzoff and younger brother Paul Pereverzoff.
Mom loved crafting, she was always sewing/making blankets, knitting and crocheting. She donated many of the items she made to the Kamloops Food Bank the Mustard Seed, Interior Community Services Youth Outreach, and a local Women’s Shelter. Mom received many awards for her contributions.
She was an excellent cook, attending culinary school at Cariboo College. Her best customers and hugest fans were her family. Mom often got upset when we didn’t eat enough, even though the waistlines were bursting.
Mom was a loving, kind and generous person. To us she was Mom, but to others she was affectionately known as “Baba”.
She had an amazing sense of humor and infectious laugh. She made a positive impact on anyone she met and didn’t realize how many friends she made as she traveled through life.
Mom fiercely loved her family and relished spending time with all of us. Her love was unconditional and endless. She was an example of beauty, humility, quiet strength and dignity.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
It broke our hearts to see you go,
God only takes the best.
They say that memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true,
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.
We sat beside your bedside,
Our hearts were crushed and sore,
We did our duty to the end,
‘Til we could do no more.
In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
And though our hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.
Our lips cannot speak how we loved you,
Our hearts cannot tell what to say,
But God only knows how we miss you,
In our home that is lonely today.
We would like to make special mention of Nora’s medical care team.
Dr. Selena Lawrie, and Kendra from Interior Health -your support and compassion for Mom while she was in your care was exceptional and totally blew us away.
Our eternal gratitude to the staff at The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice. We kindly ask that donations be made to this incredible place. It is heaven on earth.
As per Mom’s request, private interment will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace, Mom. Your gentle spirit, love and nurturing heart made this world a better place.
