Jack was born on March 19, 1959 in Carman, Manitoba and was the first of four children to Earl and Marine McDonald.
He was predeceased by his father Earl and his first wife Debra. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Debbie, his three daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Sawatzky, Rachel (Simon) McDonald and Stacy (Mike) Garrison, his three stepdaughters Kelly (Steve) Morgan, Kristy Hampson-Booth, and Carley Hampson-Booth, and granddaughters Holly and Anna. He also leaves to mourn his mother Marine, his brothers Scott(Kelly) McDonald, Murray (Anita) McDonald, and his sister Cheryl (Cam) Phillips as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Dad lived in Carman, MB until his late thirties when he moved with his family to British Columbia. He had a big personality and was well known in the communities where he lived. He was proud to be a Truck Driver just like his father and he worked for Westcan Bulk Transport for over twenty years. After work, you could often find him at his local pub shooting the breeze with his friends over a beer. Dad loved the outdoors and was at his happiest fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his friend “Hoagie” with whom he spent a lot of time exploring and hunting in the mountain ranges near his home.
Jack was a fierce protector of those he loved and was a pillar in our family. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.
A heartfelt thank you to the ICU Staff at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops for their care and compassion for Dad and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
