It is with profound sadness and regret that we announce the sudden passing of Gregory Douglas Nicol, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, on September 11, 2024, at the age of 55.
Greg was born on August 22, 1969, in Unionville, Ontario, to Alexander and Rena Nicol. He was born into a loving household with his parents and two older sisters. He went on to welcome a younger sister and brother into his life a few years down the road. In June of 1993 Greg welcomed his first daughter Ashley into the world. He was so excited to be a dad. In September of 1999 he welcomed his second daughter Taeya into the world.
Greg enjoyed music, singing and loved to dance. You could always count on him to try and get you to listen to a new song he had heard. He would sing along and always thought he was a better singer than he really was. He took pride in his job as a truck driver. Greg had his struggles but he always made it known how much he loved his daughters and his mama bear.
Greg is survived by his loving mother, Rena (Norm), his sisters Kimberly (Jeff), Lorrie (Brent), Jennifer, his brother Brian, daughters Ashley (Mike), Taeya, Granddaughters (Gracie, Lucy, Elsie) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Greg will be joining his granny, Uncle Doug, dad Alexander Nicol, fiancé Melissa Johnson and his long time friend Kram Mathieu in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Thompson Rivers Recovery Club in Kamloops in Greg’s name. You can e-transfer donations to [email protected] If you would like more information on the TRRC, visit their website at https://trrclub.ca/
Greg’s light will forever shine in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Until we meet again. We love you.
