We are sad to announce the passing of Edward (Ted) Stark peacefully in his sleep at the Hamlets Care Facility in Kamloops, B.C. on December 1, 2020. Born October 4, 1931 in Vancouver, B.C., Ted lived a long and active life, filled with travel, family, watching the Vancouver Canucks and enjoying sharing his pool with many kids, grandkids and friends. Sadly, dementia took over much of his last years.
His humour, generosity and feisty nature stayed with him until the end. He was the beloved husband for 25 years and was predeceased by his first wife Elsie Elizabeth Stark, and was predeceased by his second wife Florence Shields in 2015.
He is survived by his sister Joan Bush (Vancouver), sons Randy, Greg, Jeff and Dean, and the surviving children and siblings of Florence Shields. He leaves behind four sons, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. We wish to thank our angel step-sister, Tanya Lavoie for her gracious and unconditional love, support and compassionate care for Ted in his final years of life.
We thank the caring staff as well at the Hamlets, for their tender and humour-filled care for Dad.
Dad was a great father, a caring and generous man who taught us to be moral, resilient and generous people. He also shared his feisty nature with us, his passion for construction and house maintenance (that wall!), and his sense of humour.
We miss him already, and always will. May he rest in peace and enjoy time now with the loved ones who have gone before him.
Due to social gathering restrictions, there will be no service at this time, though a family get-together is planned for the time when restrictions are lifted.
No flowers, please, but donations are very welcome to the Hamlets Care Facility in Kamloops, B.C. (https://www.thehamletsatwestsyde.com/), and to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia (https://alzheimer.ca/bc/en).
