Victoria Lynn (“Vicki” … Arbella) Wallace entered into eternal life on February 26, 2022. Vicki, age 73, was Mike’s “Bride” of 51 years, a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, IL, and then Annapolis, MD, and more recently a resident of Tequesta, FL. With the Lord clearly watching over her, Vicki passed in a very peaceful manner, after challenges brought on by COVID, combined with her auto-immune disease of the past 9 years.
Vicki was the treasured mother of Shawn (Cynthia) Wallace and Amy Wallace (Matthew) McDevitt, and the devoted and beloved “Nani” of Alexander, Nathaniel, and Isabella Wallace, and of Henry, William, and Jane McDevitt. Vicki was the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine Arbella, cherished sister of Margret Plasencia and Joanne Hainz, and dear sister-in-law of Charles (Nancy) Wallace, Patrick (Marsha) Wallace, and the late Thomas (Shelly) Wallace, and fun-loving aunt and cousin to many.
Vicki was a very devout Catholic, a nurse with a wide variety of experiences, in several states. She was a graduate of Marquette University, where she met Mike, and they married immediately after her graduation, and they were in service to their country with Mike in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. She especially enjoyed Ocean Sailing for the past 30 years including such places as Ireland, England, France, Guernsey, the East Coast of the U.S., and the Caribbean. Moreover, she loved sailing and related activities with her kids and grandkids, and she especially loved “summer sailing camp”, with her grandkids, in Annapolis. Vicki was a lady of many great qualities including her keen intellect, commitment to her faith, her perseverance, her openness to challenge, her thirst for adventure, and much more!
In addition to being close to and proud of her immediate and extended family, Vicki considered herself very blessed to have many cherished friends in Illinois and Maryland, with whom she enjoyed a variety of interests.
A Memorial Mass will be offered for her, on Saturday, March 12, at 10am at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, in Palatine, IL, her parish for more than 25 years. A “Celebration of Life” will follow at Metropolis Ballroom, Arlington Heights, IL (11:30am – 3:00pm). https://www.mykeeper.com/profile/VictoriaWallace/
