Sandra “Sandy” Kay Poore, 72, of Jupiter, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at home in the company of her loving family, after fighting cancer for more than 2 years. She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on October 2, 1950; the daughter of R.B. and Virginia Rinehart.
Sandy graduated from Lindsay High School and then attended 2 years of College at Oklahoma Christian College. She met the love of her life and best friend, Thomas Poore in college and they married on April 25th 1970. They first moved to Philadelphia, then to Florida, landing in Lighthouse Point, then Pompano Beach, and eventually settling into Jupiter. Sandy loved the home they built in Jupiter, always decorating and keeping things festive and bright.
Sandy and Tom enjoyed many adventures, including trips all around the country and frequent visits to Disney World in particular. Before she passed, they visited the United Kingdom on a guided bus tour with her eldest son Tom and daughter-in-law. She had a gregarious personality and even during her fight with cancer would infect her caretakers with her bright smile. She deeply valued her friends. Sandra was a celebrated and valued efficiency expert for Florida Power and Light.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas John Poore; her son, Thomas John Poore II and her daughter, Erin Virginia Poore.
Her son, Steven Ryan Poore is predeceased as of November 2015.
A graveside service for immediate family for Sandra will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.
A memorial service will be held at Jupiter-Tequesta Church of Christ, at 11701 SE 171st St, Jupiter, FL 33469, on Saturday February 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
