Patricia Anne “Pat” Baker Turner, 88, of Indian Shores, Florida passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Pat, a native Floridian, was preceded in death by her father Colonel Robert B. Baker Jr, and her mother Anne Helms Baker.
She is survived by her husband Beverly Dow (“BD”) Turner Jr, daughters Katy Turner Johnson (Brian), grandchildren Turner and Evan (Megan) and by Jeni Turner Johnson, grandchildren Jake, Harrison, Ava and their father Bob Johnson.
Pat was the eldest of three children. She attended high school in London, England and witnessed the inauguration of Queen Elizabeth.
After graduating from Florida State with a BA, Pat married BD on July 27, 1957 after being introduced by a mutual friend in Arlington Virginia. The couple relocated to Richmond, VA where Pat was instrumental in helping her husband earn his law degree at the University of Richmond Law School and they welcomed their first daughter Katy. Bev and Pat moved to Alexandria, Virginia and welcomed their second daughter Jeni. In 1974 they built Pat’s dream home in Oakton, VA where they lived until they retired and relocated to Pat’s home state of Florida. Pat was employed as a devoted teacher and a successful realtor.
Pat and BD loved their ‘Home on the Beach’ in Indian Shores for decades after their move from Winter Haven, Florida. They also enjoyed many years of cruising and traveling the world. Pat, known as Boo-Boo to her grandkids, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and beloved friend to many in Florida, Virginia and elsewhere.
