A dedicated housewife and mother, Elaine was also an avid gardener with a particular passion for roses. She was a skilled seamstress and equally skilled at knitting and needlepoint. She was a patron of the arts and her charitable contributions were numerous and often anonymous. She developed a later-in-life interest in golf and spent many delightfully frustrating hours on golf courses in both Chattanooga and Jupiter.
Elaine’s generous and indomitable spirit enriched the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation in honor of her memory be sent to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
