Lawrence A. Barber, 77, husband of Jacqueline Barber, of Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer on July 11, 2023. Larry, as he was well known, was born on October 5, 1945, in New Britain, Connecticut to the late Fred and Alice Barber.
Larry graduated from Berlin High School where he was a star athlete earning his way into the Berlin Hall of Fame. He was also a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard. Larry & Jackie were married 4 days shy of their 39th anniversary on July 15, 1984. He worked as a sales manager & vice president for numerous fastener companies both in Florida and Connecticut for more than 50 years.
Larry loved his family and enjoyed family trips to Captiva Island, Florida every year where he enjoyed fishing for snook. He was an avid golfer, playing with his friends at Portland Country Club in Connecticut and at the Golf Club of Jupiter in Florida and he was also a volunteer firefighter with the East Berlin Fire Department.
Besides his wife, Jackie, Larry is survived by his son, Daniel Barber and his wife Amy of Jupiter; his sister, Jan & husband Eric Schofield of The Woodlands, Texas, their 3 children, Lindsey Schofield, Kyle Schofield of Spring, Texas and Ryan Schofield & his wife, Jessica and their 2 children, Blaire & Mia Schofield of Ft. Worth, Texas. Brother-in-law, Michael Talbot of Wallingford Connecticut, brother-in-law, Richard & wife Lynne Talbot of Plantsville, Connecticut, sister-in-law Mary Beth Butcher & husband Jerry & son Tom of Plantsville, Connecticut. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Fred & Alice Barber of Houston, Texas.
