John H Pearson of Jupiter, FL, passed away on August 16, 2017, at the age of 84 from advanced cardiovascular disease. He was born in LaGrange, Ga., living there until 1952, when he enlisted into the military to serve his country during the Korean War. At the end of the war he moved to Atlanta, meeting his wife Aileen and continued his military career with her by his side. They were married for 63 years.
John’s military service was with the US Army where he served for 25 years. It included tours in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. During his time of service John received several medals; the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star were among a few. He was with the 5th Special Forces in Vietnam, a Special Agent for the Department of Defense (DOD) and was with Counter Intelligence in Europe. He received numerous accommodations throughout his career for dedication and bravery. The discipline, patriotism and love he learned and felt for his country never left him.
He lived in Jupiter, FL off and on while in the military; after his retirement he moved with his wife to Blue Ridge, Ga. While there he was elected to the Town Council and served as Police Commissioner. John was also an active member of the Mineral Bluff’s Masonic Lodge # 483 in Ga., a noble member of Yaarab Shriners of Atlanta Ga., a life member of the American Legion Post # 0400 Orlando FL, Gold Circle Life Member of the VFW in Stuart FL., charter member of
Jupiter FL. Moose Lodge, member of Jupiter Sunset Kiwanis and the Gideon's. Not left behind, but until the time they meet again is his wife Aileen; children, Debra and husband Ron, Linda and Tina, Kelly-Ann and her husband John; grandchildren, Cortney, her husband Brent and son Gage, Candice, her husband Jason and their sons Ronnie, Josh and Braden and Amber and her husband Bob. John also left behind many other family members which includes his brother Calvin, his wife Patricia and family; brother-in-law Leonard Flowers and Carolyn and Dennis Setser.
John was fond of trees with the Bradford Flowering Pear Tree being his favorite. The family has asked that if possible to plant a tree in his honor (native to your area) or make a small donation to Trustbridge the Hospice Center in Jupiter, FL.
Services have not been set as yet but John’s final resting place will be at Riverside Memorial Park in Jupiter, FL.
