John was a wonderful kind man who I had the pleasure of knowing for many years. He will be sadly missed.  Clearly one of the nicest person I have ever known.  Ann, Alex and Susanna not only do I offer my condolences but am grateful for the time you had with him

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Frey.  He was a very special person to our family and my daughter is a nurse today because he told her she could do well in Science.  He would work with her until she understood each and every concept ending with 100% in Physics.  She went on to become a BSN RN and he played a critical role in that process.  He touched so many families during his time at RHS.  Thank you for sharing him with us.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing and send my sincere condolences to all his friends and families. I had the honor of working with him at Ridge High School as he had so many of my students. John was an inspiring and dedicated teacher who motivated students especially special education students who may not have felt confident and helped them to believe in themselves and feel successful. He was kind, patient and understanding to all his students and was an incredible co-teacher with our special education teachers and the ultimate role model. He left an indelible mark on all of us. May his memory be a blessing.

John was an amazing person in every single facet of life.  He was successful in everything he did  He treated everyone with respect and care.  He was a role model for everyone that ever was around him.    He is my measuring stick in life and I strive to live up to the high standards he set for me.   Everyday, I realize this take an incredible effort.  Somehow, he made it seem effortless.  This is a tragic loss for all of us but his spirit lives on in each of us.

John was a wonderful colleague and an exceptional teacher who worked magic with his CP Physics students -- my daughter among them.  Under his guidance, even the kids who thought they didn't like science grew to love it.  That's how amazing he was.  As a colleague, I always enjoyed our conversations -- John was witty and deeply intelligent.  Though he retired some years ago, he will always be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

John was a tremendous colleague at Ridge High School. As a counselor what stood out to me the most was how skilled John was at motivating students. They worked hard because they wanted to show him how much they could do. He spent time emailing counselors asking which of his students could use an uplifting and positive email home and he always took the time to send them, finding ways to compliment the student for their participation or enthusiasm on a particular lesson or lab or highlighting an act of kindness he had witnessed. John set the tone at Ridge and those of us who had the pleasure to work with him learned how to be better educators because of him. I continue to share his practices with new colleagues and always remember the power of a positive email home. I am so sad to learn of John's passing. He was an incredible man and an unforgettable educator.  I will remember him always.

John was a Mentor, a colleague, and more importantly a true friend. I had already been coaching when I came to Ridge, and we had the opportunity to coach together. I learned so much from him, and will always treasure the time we spent together. He was a great man, and made everyone around him better that had the pleasure of knowing him. He will truly be missed by all.

So sorry, Ann.  John made such a difference in my daughter's time at Ridge and I am happy that I had to opportunity to work at Ridge with him.  When my daugher was disappointed about being in CP Physics, John told her that his class would be about making Physics fun, and he did!  My sincere condolences.

We have so many fond memories of our times together with Ann and John at Lake Naomi! They both loved hosting our PPA group gatherings, and John LOVED being the bartender (wanting to get everyone in the partying mood). John's gentle spirit, smiling face, unwavering friendship, and sense of humor will be sorely missed.

John was the best loved teacher at Ridge High School. His concern for his students was remarkable as was his knowing the right thing to do in just about any situation.  I used to describe John as the man I wanted to be when I grew up.  ( Iwas bout 55 at the time) . You have my sincere sympathies for the loss of sucha great man.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful role model for the students at Ridge High School. He was always willing to help anyone in need, and preferred to offer financial assistance anonymously. I am a better person for having known John. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Hi y’all,

I was a student of Mr. Fry’s at Ridge, and he was one of the biggest reasons I found confidence and purpose during high school. He believed in me, which helped me believe in myself.

Mr. Fry was a constant source of light—not just for me, but for so many students. He was a mentor in every sense of the word and even wrote my college recommendation letter. I’ll never forget my last day of senior year: I walked into his classroom to return the books we’d borrowed, and he was sitting there, humming along to some easy old-school music. When I said goodbye, he told me how proud he was of what I’d accomplished and wished me a happy, healthy life as I left for school in Colorado.

Mr. Fry was an incredible man who truly cared about his students and everyone around him. My deepest condolences to your family—please know he made a lasting impact on so many lives.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your husband. May the love and memories shared bring you comfort and peace. The things I'm going to miss about John is his charm, smile and his joy of dancing on the memory care floor with the staff and residents. May he Rest in paradise.

I met John in first grade at St Matthew School in Philadelphia in the early 50s.  We got to know each other and participated in various youth sports teams.  As time passed on our lives took some different paths but a contact was retained.  As our families grew we started doing vacations, trips, and other occasional get togethers.  John was and always will be a great friend and a person I and my family were very fortunate to know.  We will miss him in our lives.  Our sympathies go out to Ann and the kids.  He will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of John's passing yesterday. John coached Freshmen Football for me at Ridge, and he was always a true gentleman and a great mentor for the boys. John's patience, poise, wisdom, and more, were always such a calming prescence for all who enjoyed his company. In 2013 we had a 12-0 State Championship Team. In 2010, I remember John telling me about them, and how excited he was for their future with us. Boy, was he right.
I have been thinking about John, and you,  a great deal. If there is anything I can do please drop me a line.

It was over 50 years ago that I  first met Ann and John.  We were young  and on the “road of life” with babies, careers and all that came our way.  We had much in common and great fun over the many years that followed.  
John was a lovely man.  He was always a perfect  gentleman, loyal , kind and totally devoted to his wife, Ann and his children.  We will miss his graciousness and Mike will remember the golf outings for sure!

If asked to describe John I would  say he was a gentle giant.  John was as kind, generous  and caring as he was big.  I've known Ann and John over 30 years. Over those years we spent many happy times together. When I sent live lobsters dinners to them in the Poconos and if it weren't for John putting them in the steamer we'd never eat. Ann and I wouldn't go near live lobsters.  We had lots of laughs that night and many others.  I will miss John his sweet smile and quick humor.

We first met John 40 years ago when we were coaching opposing third grade soccer teams.  John went on to coach Little League with Gary, then onto football.   He was an excellent coach who was so generous in sharing his knowledge and always patient while teaching new skills.  John always amazed us that many years later he could still recall plays that some of the boys made in Little League!  As a friend, he was always generous with his knowledge, time and sense of humor.  We  shared so many memories over the years with our families, from sports, colleges, graduations, weddings, and grandchildren.  Who would have thought that that first encounter on a third grade soccer field would have led to a friendship that has given us so much over the decades.  Our hearts and love go out to Ann, Alex, Susanna and their families.  Gary and I are so blessed to have had you all in our lives these past 40 years.

Ann and John’s children were teenagers when our children were born and we always thought of them as our adult friends. They had a true love story and he was passionate about Ann and his children. He was a sweet, kind man who was a good friend and we will miss him.

John was a good friend from Short Hills, NJ and then, Jupiter, FL. He was a “gentle”man, always greeted all with a smile and something to chat about. He raised a wonderful family and adored his beautiful wife, Ann. I send my deepest condolences to all and know,  you will all be in my prayers.  Ann was a devoted, loving wife filled with love for John, especially during these past few trying years. He will always be fondly remembered.

I remember John Fry from Little league as he was a coach. He was always front and center and wanted to win. There was that competitive look in his eye and I always admired that. Sure, Certain, and a leader! It’s those moments where you remember the look, the glance, the certainty of a being, and John had that. Funny how I recall it so clearly. As a kid, those are the people you respect and look up to.

We will remember John for his dry sense of humor and his warmth. We were neighbors in two different locations, and in both places John was eager to help in any way he could. We clearly recall John, up on a ladder hanging our Christmas wreath above our fireplace and on the same ladder taking it down when it was time to remove it. We could not have done it ourselves, and John knew that. That's why he volunteered to hang the wreath every year without our having to ask. 
John was caring, loving, and had a generous heart. We were fortunate to have known him, and we will miss him.
