James David White (Jim) age 91, of Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully at Trustbridge Hospice on January 14, 2018. Born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, he and his family moved to Jupiter in the early 1960’s. Jim served as a Law Enforcement Officer in Strasburg Pennsylvania prior to serving as a Public Service Officer at the Salhaven Retire Village in Jupiter. He left Salhaven to become a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Jim was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, directly creating three Troops in the Jupiter Tequesta area and earning the highest award a Council can bestow; the Silver Beaver Award. Jim also helped organize the North County Ambulance Squad in the 1960’s. He volunteered as a Florida Safe Hunter Education Instructor for over 25 years, served as a Deacon in his church and for many years, he served Palm Beach County as a polling site deputy. Through his service in Scouting, his church and the community, Jim touched the lives of hundreds of young people truly making a positive difference in his community. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine. He is survived by his four sons, Jesse, James Michael, Neal and Ivo, six grandchildren Kristin, David, Danielle, Heather, Julie and Brandon and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL. on Monday, 1/22/18 from 6pm to 8pm and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 1/23/18 at 10am also at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home.
