Doreen Mae Lowe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, stepped into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 2, 2019. She was born on May 9, 1934 in Nassau, Bahamas to George Basil Lowe and Amy Adele Griffin. She lived 84 full and blessed years.
Doreen married John Wesley Lowe on March 2, 1951 in Nassau, Bahamas. The Lord blessed their marriage for 61 years until John was called to his heavenly home on January 23, 2013. Doreen left retail work to pursue a lifelong calling of rearing four children. Her talents in sewing, cooking, gardening, house painting and fishing were uniquely applied as she created a loving environment for her family. Although petite in stature, she rose to any challenge.
In 1988, Doreen and John moved to the United States to be in the country where their children and grandchildren now lived. They settled in Jupiter, Florida, a coastal community. They soon joined Beacon Baptist Church. Here they developed wonderful friendships over the years.
Doreen is survived by 4 children: Paula Higgs Jackson (Lynn), Paul Lowe (Sherry), Jonathan Lowe (Karen), and Evan Lowe (Dona); 16 grandchildren: Chantal Higgs Chung (Gary), Sophia Higgs Farmer (Timothy), Jason Lowe (Heather), Jessica Lowe Traylor (Grant), Mckenzie Lowe Dunnington (Joel), Karissa Lowe, Nathaniel Lowe, Gabrielle Lowe, Grace Lowe, E. Wesley Lowe, Jr., Gwyneth Lowe Farmer (Nicholas), Dylan Lowe, Rhys Lowe, Griffin Lowe, Bronwyn Lowe and Owen Lowe; 13 great-grandchildren: Andrew Chung, Emma Chung, Aimee Farmer, Levi Farmer, Benjamin Farmer, Cody Farmer, Audrey Lowe, Ian Lowe, Aiden Lowe, Ethan Lowe, Ava Rone, Hudson Rone and Ella Traylor; 1 sister: Jean Lowe; 3 sisters-in-law: Irene Lowe, Joyce Lowe and Abigail Bixby; 1 brother-in-law: Alik Sjahri and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Beacon Baptist Church, 11616 Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida.
