Alicia was born in Uruguay to Celia Rodrigues Da Cunha and Antonio Belo. She earned an Associate Degree at the School of Economy, Montevideo, Uruguay and fearlessly immigrated to the United States at the age of 21 with her best friend, Jackie. Alicia began a career in child care working for a wonderful family. After 5 years of caring for their children, she transitioned to a career in their agricultural business, first as an Office Administrator, then ultimately as Director of Operations.
Alicia’s girls were her greatest joy. She frequently volunteered, happily helping with anything that was needed and was always their biggest cheerleader. She instilled in them her love of art, including painting, building, and making slime. She taught her daughters well and now at the ages of 9 & 13, they bake fabulous pastries just like their mom. Alicia enjoyed travel, most recently to Portugal, North Carolina, and Mexico with family and friends. She cherished gatherings and took great pride in cooking elaborate meals for them.
Alicia is survived by her husband Carlos Goncalves and daughters Giovanna and Isabella, her parents Celia Rodrigues and Antonio Belo (Uruguay), sisters Sylvia and Veronica (Uruguay), and numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alicia was predeceased by her grandparents, Antonio & Feliciana Rodriques, who were instrumental in raising her to become the incredibly compassionate, selfless, devoted woman she was.
