Willie Johnson Jr, was born in Lake Garfield, Florida on November 4, 1937 to the late Willie and Pearlie Mae Johnson. His family later moved to Bartow Florida where he attended and graduated from Union Academy High School on June 8, 1955. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Williamson, Georgia.
Preceded in death is his wife Ida L. Johnson, Father Willie Johnson Sr, Mother Pearlie M. Johnson, Brothers Leartis Johnson and Johnnie Lee Johnson Sr, Sister Deloris Johnson and Step Daughter Juanita Watkins.
Willie retired from the US Navy where he served honorably for 20 years and achieved the rank of Petty Office. Some of his achievements consist of the Good Conduct Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation Award, Award for exceptionally Meritorious Service during sustained combat operations against enemy forces from April -October 1967 Okinawa, Japan, Navy Unit Commander Bar and the Bronze Star.
Willie also received a Diploma from Marietta Vocational-Technical School for completing the Automotive Mechanics Course in March 1980.
Willie loved his family and friends he enjoyed listening to music, he loved sports and pictures of Nature. Although Brother Willie wasn’t a Deacon he sat with the Deacons of the Church and when teased about it he would say “The Pastor gave me permission".
Left to Cherish his memories are his step children: James Boyd of Marietta GA, Carolyn (Ulysses) Driver of Williams GA, Wilma Boyd Cartersville GA, Anne Boyd-Ross of Marietta GA, John Boyd of Marietta,GA , Geraldine “Toostie” Sands of Marietta GA ; and a host of other devoted family and friends who will miss him dearly. His Nieces and Nephews: Anne (Brian) Dunson of Texas, Ophelia Henderson of North Carolina, Johnnie L. (Tonya) Johnson Jr, of Georgia, LaSharrell (Aaron) Richardson of Stone Mountain, GA, Saxon Johnson of Ana Texas and Annaleigh Buffkin of Colorado; Sister in Law Julia Johnson, Nephew Leartis J. Johnson and David R. Johnson of Bartow Florida, 16 grand children, 25 great grandchildren,14 great nieces and nephews a host of many other devoted family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation at graveside for Willie will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 PM at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, 53 Merrybrook Rd, Williamson, GA 30292. Following the visitation at graveside will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Corinth Baptist Church, 53 Merrybrook Rd, Williamson, GA 30292.
