2021. John was born on December 23, 1943 to the late Rev. Reuben and Mother Allie Mae Williams, he grew up in the Washington D.C. area, attending public school in the District of Columbia public school system.
John was employed at Wonder Bread Factory for over 25 years. After his time at the factory, he became
self-employed as an independent contractor doing construction and landscaping before retiring in 2005.
In his later years John loved spending time with his church family, studying the bible and fellowshipping.
He loved to sing, cook and watching his beloved Washington Redskins. He also enjoyed listening to old school R&B (oldies but goodies) and gospel music. He was quick the character and enjoyed cracking jokes and a good laugh.
John was preceded in death by two uncles, Robert Hardy, and Fred Hardy; five aunts, O’Dell Hardy, Linny
Hardy, Margaret Suber, Fern Hardy, and Bernice Lane (his favorite aunt), and one grandson, Marcus
Smith.
John is survived by four sons, John Robert (La-Shaughn) Williams of Keller, TX; James (Jessica) Williams of Laurel, MD; Brian (Chaunta) Williams of Ft. Washington, MD; and Justin Williams, Sr. of Annapolis, MD; two daughters, Kim (Thomas) Fullen of Capitol Heights, MD; and Joi Williams of Jonesboro, GA. Fourteen grandchildren: Helena Williams, David Hunter, Chanyce (Jacob) Washington, James “Jimmy” Williams II, Lauren Williams, Jordan Williams, Justin “JJ” Williams Jr., Brian “Alex” Williams II, Cameron Williams, Raegan Jones, James Oliver, Major Williams, Jessey Williams and Jasmine Williams. Five greatgrandchildren: Mariah Smith, Hakeem Hunter, Aubrey Washington, Zion Washington, and Andrea “AJ” Williams, two sisters, Betty (Rev. Johnny) Jones and Mary (Bishop William) Pinkney as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
