Emily Sue Brown, 81, of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1942 in West Union, OH, a daughter to the late John Dee and Hazel (Howard) Staten. Emily’s joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughters, Therese King and Tonya (Greg) DeFine; grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) King, Brooke (Tyler Manns) King, Olivia DeFine and Christian DeFine; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jayden, Katelynn and Leah King; siblings, Oliver (Patty) Staten, Beulah Ayres, David (Brenda) Staten and Virginia Copas and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Emily is also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Brown; son-in-law, Barry King and siblings, John Dee Staten, Rosemary Skaggs, Kenneth Staten and Martha Hayslip. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Calvin Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
