Texie Pearl Stipes, age 83, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was born in Bristol, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Carl Byington and Bea Holt Byington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Lee Stipes on June 26, 2019; and one daughter, Joyce Moyher on December 9, 2010.
Texie was of the Pentecostal faith and retired from Green Valley Foods. She loved shopping, pottery, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved her trips to Cherokee for some gambling.
She is survived by two children, Glenn Stipes and wife Linda; and Vickie Clark; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Patsy Jobe; one brother-in-law, Johnny Stipes; and two special friends, Vickie Rumley and Kathy Harmon.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 PM with her grandson Shawn Stipes officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shawn Stipes, Chris Blevins, Wayne Moyher, Ricky Black, and great grandson, Noah Moyher.
Due to COVID-19, for everyone’s protection, all visitors are required to wear a mask and social distancing will be observed.
