Rita Beatrice May

Rita Beatrice May, age 71, of Telford, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Dante, Virginia, a daughter of the late Walter Witt, Sr. and Margaret Phillips Witt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Ernest May, Sr.; one sister, Connie Geisler; and four brothers, Walter Witt, Donald Witt, Earnest Witt, and Carol Witt.

Rita was attended Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her children as being the best mom, one who loved to sew, work puzzle books, and spend time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nicole Cooper and husband John; one son, Bill May, Jr. and girlfriend, Luci Tate; two grandsons, Gaven Canonizado and Dalton May; three granddaughters, Destinie May, Harley Cooper, and Caitlynne Cooper; two sisters, Chris Mosier and Rhonda Jenkins; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Private Committal Service and Inurnment will be held in the Garden of the Gospels at Monte Vista Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to charity of choice.
