David Eugene Scalf, 53, of Watauga, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a son of Harold Eugene Scalf and Sheila Gayle Foust Scalf. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Arlie and Ruth Yates.
David was a machine operator at American Water Heater for 15 years. He was an avid fan of Elvis, enjoyed lawn work and being outdoors. He also loved Nascar and Astronomy.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lisa Ann Scalf; two daughters, Megan Merritt and husband Josh, and Trisha Scalf and wife Indya; two grandchildren, Aiden Arnold and Madilynn Scalf; father, Harold Eugene Scalf; two sisters, Melissa Guinn and husband Keith, and Crystal Scalf; sister and brother-in-law, Becky Morton and husband Shannon; aunt and uncle, Kathy and Johnny Foust; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00PM with Earl Hammer officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Due to COVID-19, for everyone’s protection, all visitors are required to wear a mask.
