Thomas J. Hemeleski

Thomas J. Hemeleski, 77 died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Ft. Pierce, FL. He was born in Orange, NJ, December 5, 1932 to Susan and William Hemeleski. He has been a resident of Hutchinson Island for 23 yrs. coming from Mansfield Twp., Warren County, NJ. Mr. Hemeleski was of the Catholic faith.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Before retirement, he was an Auditor and a Supervising Auditor for the NJ Division of Taxation for 30 years. Mr. Hemeleski was awarded a Public Manager’s certificate by Governor Kean of New Jersey. He also served as a member of the Mansfield Township Board of Tax Assessors. For most of the past 16 years, as a board member, he also served as the Treasurer of the Jensen Beach Club Condominium Association.

Survivors include his wife, Carole, of 54 years, Hutchinson Island; sons, Thomas and wife, Martha Sue, Tamiment, PA; Michael and his wife Virginia, Hackettstown, NJ; a daughter, Gloria Cyphers, Mansfield Twp, NJ; three grandchildren, Rachel Hemeleski, Phillipsburg, NJ, SPC. Michael Hemeleski, US Army, and Philip Hemeleski, Tamiment, PA, two great grandchildren, Sara and Eric Grumbine, Phillipsburg, NJ.

He was predeceased by two brothers William Hemmel and John Hemeleski.

Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach. Burial will be private. A gathering of remembrance will be held in the near future.
