Born October 15, 1926 in New York City to Marino Perrine Jeantet. Raised and educated in Corona, New York, Lina received her degree in fashion from Pratt Institute Brooklyn, New York. On November 7, 1948 she married the love of her life Frederick W. Diede. Before his death in 1999, they were blessed celebrating 50 years of marriage They raised their family in Whitestone, NY. In 1985 they relocated to Jensen Beach, FL where they enjoyed their retirement traveling the world and visiting family.
Lina’s early years of working in the garment district designing and tailoring for the show rooms which carried over to designing and making clothes for her children and grandchildren, along with unique crafts for her family that will forever be cherished. Also in her retirement, Lina was an active board member of the Rio Civic Club, and past board member of her condo association. She found great strength in religion and her parish of Saint Martin. DePorre Roman Catholic Church brought her much comfort and pleasure. She was an active member of the Catholic daughters and for the past 28 years volunteered in the parish soup kitchen
Family was the core of her life. She enjoyed preparing Sunday and holiday family meals, spending time with her children, grandchildren great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, attending and being apart of the cheering team to their extra curricular activities or just simply reading a book to them. She was truly the glue to our family. No matter who she met she always brought a sense of importance to anyone with her gentle smile and kind words.
Lina is survived by her children, Denise Marengo, Pamela and her husband, Joe, Frederick, and his wife, Madeline, and Elise and her husband Jimmy. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Saint Martin de Porres Church on:
Private cremation to follow and final resting place at Saint Mary’s cemetery in Flushing, New York .
