City Nursing & Rehab Center in Palm City, Florida. Gwen was born and raised in Detroit,
Michigan. She attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and received a
Commercial Arts Degree. Gwen has been painting since she was 7 years old.
At the age of 11, Gwen had her first drawing and painting exhibited at the Detroit
Institute of Art. She worked for General Motors Corp. in Detroit, Michigan doing
Patent Art. Since then she has continued to perfect her painting techniques and
has exhibited her paintings in many art shows, winning numerous awards!
Gwen married Earl R. Pantel in 1946. Gwen and Earl had an extremely close family
being that 2 brothers (Earl and Lou) married 2 sisters (Gwen and June). In their
50’s, they all moved to the Stuart and Jensen Beach areas in Florida.
Gwen was of Lutheran faith. Survivors include her son, Daniel Pantel and his wife
Diane; daughter, Dianne Andrews and her husband Gene; grandchildren, Chad
Pantel, Curt Pantel, Matthew Andrews and his wife, Justine; Gena Young and her
husband Justin; great grandchildren, Justin Bajis, Julia Bajis, Tomlin Andrews and
Magnolia Young. Gwen also has 4 nieces, Carol Sangas, Kay Shippell, Lynda Ashbay,
and Terri Jones; and 1 nephew, Joseph Pantel; including 10 great nieces/nephews
and 34 great-great nieces/nephews. Everyone thought of Gwen as “Mom,
Grandma, or GiGi.” Gwen was proceeded in death by her husband, Earl Pantel of 54 years, and
grandson, Kenneth Bajis
