He was born December 6, 1923 in Ellsworth, a son of the late Eli and Mary Shultz Bizick.
Mr. Bizick was a 1942 graduate of Ellsworth High School.
After high school he served in the United States Army during WW II. He fought in the battles at the Rhineland and Central Europe, where he was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.
After the war he worked as a coal miner at the Bethlehem Mine, Ellsworth #51 mine.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3491, both of Carmichaels; and the United Mine Workers of America, Local #1190.
Mr. Bizick enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold`em at various clubs.
On May 29, 1952 he married Dolores Vishak Bizick, who died June 30, 2006.
Surviving are three children, Paul Richard Bizick and his wife Gloria of Canonsburg, Charles Edward Bizick of Rices Landing, and Debra Lynn Weston and her husband Jack of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Zack Weston and his wife Racquel, Richard Bizick, Brendan Bizick and Brianna Bizick; a sister-in-law, Josephine Bizick of Ellsworth.
Deceased are two brothers, George Bizick and Miller Bizick; three sisters, Dorothy Rusilko, Lillian Sheller, and Ann Bizick.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc.1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015, with the Rev. Fr. Gregory Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery, Rices Landing. Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Army, the American Legion Post #400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3491.
