She was born April 19, 1949 in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Madeline Donofrio Goss of Vestaburg.
Mrs. Machinak was a 1967 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School and after high school she had graduated from Cosmetology School.
She worked as a beautician before she had children but spent most of her married life as a homemaker. She was a member of the Parish of St. Oliver Plunkett in Fredericktown.
Evelyn was a gifted florist and avid crafter. She was especially talented at painting ceramics and making beautiful wreaths and floral arrangements. She was also an avid reader, loved everything Americana and QVC shopping. Her greatest joy was being Mom and Grammy. She was so proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments and enjoyed watching them participate in all their activities.
On August 23, 1969 she married David Machinak, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Darla (Barry) Mylan of Rices Landing and Dawn (Dan) Murray of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Aaron Mylan, Molly Mylan, and Jared Murray; a sister, Mary Sape of Vestaburg; three sister-in-law’s, Dolly (David) Long of Wooster, MA, Donna (Ken) Morosky of Waynesburg, and Elaine Posten of Waynesburg; a brother-in-law, Chris Machinak of Fredericktown. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Daisy, and her grand-dog, Ruby; several nieces, nephews and some very dear friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Albert Sape; and her two grand-dogs, Liberty and Macy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. John M. Bauer officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson.
