In her last few years, Violet enjoyed attending monthly ballroom dances, craft classes at the Senior Activities Center, spending time with her church family and porch visits with her friends. She loved good food, like a fresh tomato sandwich, and was a wonderful cook. Everyone looked forward to her signature chicken and dressing each Thanksgiving. She loved to travel and was able to enjoy two short trips this last year to see two of her grandchildren get married. Violet lived for playing games, like dominos and Rook, with her children and grandchildren. Her laugh was infectious, her smile lit up a room, and no one will ever be as witty, resilient or classy as Violet. Her loved ones already miss her terribly but know that she is no longer in pain and they will see her again in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Gallimore, Sr.; children, James Lee Gallimore, Jr. and Janet Gallimore Huett; parents, Frank and Annie Sides; sister, Dorothy Sides King, Leon Sides, John Sides, Daisy Sides Winfield and Robert Sides; and son-in-law, Charles Hall.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Lorene Hall, Janice Lynette Barnes (Randy), Frankie Lynn Gallimore (Kitty) and John Larry Gallimore (Christina); grandchildren, Matthew Rigsby (Alison), Kristin Joiner (Wesley), Chase Gallimore (Julie), Todd Hyche, Sarah Huff (Jordan), Drew Gay (Caroline), Bryson Stanley and Jackson Gallimore; sister, Carolyn Sides Ware and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Rigsby, Todd Hyche, Drew Gay, Chase Gallimore, Colby Craig, Caleb Craig, Connor Craig and Bobby Jean.
