Sammy Ray McClendon, 64, of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10 until 11 a.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Sammy graduated Walker High School in 1978 and was voted “Most School Spirit” by his senior class. After graduation he attended Walker College. Sammy was employed for many years with the City of Jasper and most recently by the Walker County Commission in their maintenance department at the Walker County Court House.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Virginia McClendon.
He is survived by numerous friends who will remember him for his kind and gentle spirit and his hearty laugh.
