Melvin Dewey Roberts Melvin Dewey Roberts, 87 of Cordova, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Brookwood Baptist Health's Princeton in Birmingham. There was no visitation. A graveside service was held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at 3 PM at Union Chapel Cemetery. Mark Lockhart officiated. Roberts was preceeded in death by his father, James H. Roberts; mother, Laura T. Roberts; brother, Bervin Roberts; sisters, Vera Hamilton, Gladys Key and Clemmie Hambric. He is survived by his wife, Norma Roberts; son, Rickey Roberts; grandson, Forrest Rickey Roberts and his fiancee, Mackenzie Stanford; nieces, Brenda Roberts, Linda Billings, Kathy Roberts, and Sheila Smitherman; nephews, Gary Key and Tim Key.
