Jake Rigsby

Jake Rigsby, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from noon until 1 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jake Rigsby graduated from Curry High School in 1964, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He taught at Martin High School and then at Curry Middle School. He really enjoyed his students and rushed to school everyday. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a big Alabama fan and enjoyed watching the game with a crowd of his family. He loved all his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Luria Rigsby; sisters, Betty Robbins, Sylvia Lay, Sally Crocker; and brothers, Curt Rigsby, Don Rigsby, Joe Rigsby, JL Rigsby, MacArthur Rigsby, and Paul Rigsby.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Rigsby; son, Scott Rigsby (Kristie); grandson, Jakob Rigsby; granddaughter, Kelsie Sapp (Jonathan); brothers, Wendell Rigsby (Martha), and Harold David Rigsby (Johnnie); sister, Patsy Strickland (Jerry); and sisters in law, Shirly Rigsby, Laura Rigsby, Shirley Rigsby, Janis Rigsby, and Ann Peake and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
