Graveside service will be held Friday, November 27, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.
She was born August 24, 1937, at home in Townley, Alabama. She attended Townley Jr. High School and graduated from Walker High School.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of the Townley Church of God, where she was an active member for many years until her health prevented her from attending. She loved to sing in the choir and teach the children Sunday school class.
She loved to sew, making quilts with her mother in earlier years for family members, she loved canning vegetables from the garden and working outside with her roses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William McKinley NeSmith and Zora Christine Harris, also, by her first husband, George Frost, and her second husband, Billy Jack Atkins.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene NeSmith (Glenda); children, Greg Frost (Faye), Debra Guthrie (Charles), and Daryl Atkins (Jennifer); grandchildren, Adam Frost (Cheryl), Laticia Frost, Marc Niver (Malissa), Rusty Niver (Kayle), Cody Atkins (Jodie), Dustin Atkins, Bret Atkins (Phylicia), Jessi Ford (Bryan), Macey Kimbrell, Maddi Kimbrell, Audrey Jacks (Juergen), Chris Jacks (Stacy) and Tyler Jacks; many great-grandchildren, Zac Guthrie (Ashley), Chloe, Madison, and Aaliyah Frost, Jace, Kenslee, and Josie Niver, Fischer Aaron, Jaxon Atkins, Hayden Early, Madelyn Atkins, Roman Ford, Montana Ford, Broncs Ford, Ni’ko Cooper, Xander Jacks, and Preston Etinger; great-great grandchildren, Everleigh Etinger, Jensen and Isaac Guthrie and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank the nurses that assisted her in the stages of her hospice care, the care provided by Winfield Carraway Hospital, and to everyone who has said prayers or offered kind words.
