Donna Karen Aaron

Donna Karen Aaron was born in Selma, Alabama on November 4, 1953, and passed away on November 25, 2024. Being a part of a military family, she moved around a lot. She moved from Selma, AL to Hawaii; Hawaii back to Selma; from Selma to Sumter, SC and then from Sumter to Jasper. At an early age, it was discovered that she had a voice bigger than she was. She started singing in church at the age of four. She graduated from Clark College in Newton, MS where she studied voice and performed throughout Mississippi and Alabama. She was a part of an elite choir at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Her singing was appreciated by many, and over the years, she was frequently asked to perform at weddings. However, she is more known for being an aunt, a role which she loved dearly. She loved NASCAR especially the Talladega 500 and Mark Martin. She was also a stauncher supporter of the University of Alabama football team. She loved Dr. Pepper and a good romance novel. She is preceded in death by her father Floyd Leonard Aaron, mother Jackie Mayberry Aaron, and her sister Debbie Aaron Geddings. She is survived by brothers Dane Aaron (Michelle); Derek Aaron and special friend Stephen Cunetto; and brother-in-law Jerry Geddings. She is survived by four nieces: Jackie Sparks, Kelly Alexander, Krissy Kennedy, and Emily Aaron; two nephews: Jon Geddings and Kory Aaron; eight great-nephews: Tres Gilbreath, Tate Gilbreath, Tristan Alexander, Peyton Alexander, Eli Geddings, Ean Taylor, Darby Aaron, and Dane Aaron; three great-nieces: Ela Taylor, Lillian Smith, and Mila Kennedy; and one great-great-nephew: Lincoln Gilbreath. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 12 p.m., at Herman Baptist Church Cemetery, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.
