Delores Burgess

Family will be receiving friends Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Boldo Cemetery. Adam Bolton will officiate.

Delores was born in the Boldo community of Jasper. She attended Boldo School and was a graduate of Walker High School. Delores was a lover of life, she was an accomplished painter, enjoyed doing floral arrangements, dancing, and volunteering at the hospital gift shop. Delores was a very proud mom, me maw, great-grandmother and a friend.

She was joined in death with her husband, Charles Calloway; preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Carrie Gilmore; brother, Jerry Gilmore; and grandparents, Emmitt and Martha Woodley and Mathey and Etta Gilmore.

She is survived by her children, Richard Lynn Moore, Sheila Piper (Darrell) and Felicia Aldridge (Tim); grandchildren, Erik Piper (Amy), Daniel Piper (Bailey), Jeremy Piper (Hannah), Elisa Maule (David) and Andrew Aldridge; great-grandchildren; sister, Reba Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Bubba’s Fund Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Erik Piper, Andrew Aldridge, Daniel Piper, Jeremy Piper, David Maule and Shawn Tidwell.
