William Preston McDonald, “Dusty” passed away at 68 years old on July 24th, 2024 at 9:30 am. My Father passed away in Jacksonville Fl, at Baptist Memorial Downtown.
My father served the community for 25 years as a correctional officer, for JSO. He also served in the Army stationed in Kansas. His brief time in the Army is what I believe helped pave the way to the man that he became. Dusty cared deeply for his family and would have given the shirt off of his back to help them. He loved to fish in his younger years and spend time on the water. As time passed on and grew older he enjoyed taking care of what he called critters. Whether it was raccoons, squirrels, or cats. He grew to love each one and take them in.
He is survived by his son Matthew McDonald, and brother Clifton McDonald, and sister Kimberly Kerby.
A visitation for William will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed by a graveside service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
