William Alfred Bass, 79, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011.
He was born in Gainesville, Florida but grew up in Cross Creek, Florida. He served as President of the Coin Laundry Operators Association of Florida. He owned and operated several Laundromats retiring at the age of 62. He was also a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. William enjoyed bowling, fishing, spending time with his family and rooting for his Gators. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and husband who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Kay Bass; son Larry Bass and wife Carol; daughters Gloria Featherston and husband John; Brenda Hartmann and husband Eric; brothers Berney Lee Bass; Roy Bass and wife Wanda; sister Bernice Dyson and husband Billy; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2011. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 all located at Town and Country Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Island Grove, Florida at 2:00 PM.
