Ed was born on August 31st 1947 to parents Walter Edward Woodall Sr. and Leila Johnson Rogers. After Ed graduated from Taylor County High School in 1966, he enlisted in the Navy and was a Seabee where he served in the Vietnam war. When Ed finished his service, he went to work for Florida Rock & Tank Lines where he worked for 56 years. There, he met his wife Jana in 1983 and they were married later that year on November 22nd.
For many years Ed enjoyed attending Florida Gators football games with his family and traveling in his RV. Ed was also a member of the Fort Caroline Baptist Church, where he attended regularly with his wife and enjoyed the fellowship events with the members of his Sunday school class.
Ed was predeceased by his Father - Walter Edward Woodall, Sr, Mother - Leila Johnson Rogers, Bonus Father - Robert S. Rogers Sr, Brother - Richard (Gene) Woodall, Brother - James Alvin Rogers and Sister-in-law - Sharon Woodall.
He is survived by his Children – Charlene Helgoth and Ben Bramlett, Grandchildren – Connor and Brendan O’Cull, Colt Helgoth, Ashley, Lauren, Lisa and Leah Bramlett. Brothers and sisters- Diane Woodall Bryan, Janice Rogers McCulloch (Mark), Steve Rogers (Betty), David Rogers (Lesa). Niece and Nephews – Rachel Woodall, Noah McCulloch, Adam Bryan, Richie Bryan and may beloved cousins.

A visitation for Walter will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Ft. Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225 followed by a funeral service starting at 10:00 AM. The committal service will occur Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
